Morning Shooting Leads To Standoff

An early morning shooting that took place between Tennessee street and De Barr lead to a standoff at a home in North Medford.

Around 2:00 am people in the neighborhood just off of Merriman Ave reported three distinct gunshots. When police investigated they attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspicious car in the area. “Before they could turn their lights on one of the suspects jumped out and ran.” Mike Budreau, with the Medford police department says multiple people were in the car at the time. Further investigation lead police to a home on De Barr where they served a search warrant using a full scale SWAT operation. After about 45 minutes the teams ‘made contact’ with the people inside. Two women were held for questioning and one man was taken into custody. a total of four people were either questioned or arrested. Police say they’re familiar with the people involved who have past arrests for drugs, assault and robbery. More details of a motive and or charges are expected to follow.
