Myrtle Creek, Ore. –A Myrtle Creek man shot and killed his infant daughter before turning the gun on himself.
Our NBC affiliate in Eugene reports that police had been searching for 19-year-old Shane Allen Bass’s vehicle on Monday because of reports of the driver being suicidal.
Police say an officer tried to pull the vehicle over for half a mile before it slowed to a stop. The officer found Bass dead in the driver’s seat and his 7-month-old daughter in the back seat.
Police say both Bass and his daughter died from gunshot wounds.
