Natural Gas Export Facility Proposed in Coos Bay

Coos Bay could soon be home to a liquefied natural gas export facility.

Jordan Cove Energy Project filed an application Wednesday with federal regulators.

The facility would export U.S. and Canadian shale gas to markets in Asia.

The proposed project needs to gain approval at local, state, and federal levels before proceeding.

Officials say if approved, the project would be the biggest construction project in Oregon ever, costing $7.5 billion.
