A new phone scam plays on the hearts of those desperate to see Kyron Horman home.
Medford Financial Crimes is investigating a phone scam, possibly out of the salem area.
Officials say scammers are attempting to solicit funds, saying it will help in the search for Kyron Horman.
Detectives say that there are legitimate charities set up for Kyron, but they do not solicit the public for funding.
It is not known if anyone has fallen for the scam.
