It will soon cost developers more money to build anything within the Phoenix-Talent School District.
The school board voted unanimously last week to adopt an new tax.
The money collected will be used to help with any construction and help purchase equipment. In 2007, the Oregon Legislature granted school districts the right to collect the tax.
Both the Medford and Central Point school districts have already implemented similar taxes.
