No showgirls allowed!

Stayton, Ore. — (KGW) An Oregon high school junior won’t have the prom date he expected.

Regis High School, a private Catholic school in Stayton, won’t allow Austin Moore to attend with the 30-year-old Las Vegas showgirl that accepted his invitation.

Moore says the invitation extended to Mariah Rivera, a cousin of one of his buddies, started as a joke. A Twitter campaign followed and Rivera eventually agreed.

That’s when Principal Scott Coulter stepped in, pointing out the prom’s age limits.

“All guests have to be 19 and under,” he explains. “And Austin’s not in trouble. We just laughed about it and I said this just isn’t going to happen.”

Fortunately, the prom isn’t ruined for Austin. He’ll still be attending with his girlfriend.
