Two days after the weekend shooting in Kerby and the man accused of pulling the trigger is not in police custody.

Aneighbor dispute escalates to the extreme in the small town of Kerby over the weekend.

“I saw my husband run and try to get away from the fence andI saw the hand come through that hole that fence with the gun and fired 3 shots and the third shot hit my husband in the back,” said Barbara Hicks, Leron Estes wife.

Barbara Hick’s husband 59 year old Leron Justin Estes was shot dead by neighbor Donald Easley according to police.

In November of 2009 Easley shot and killed Kenneth Vaughn, claiming self defense after the two got into an argument on his property.

Agrand jury concluded that he was justified in that shooting.

The bad blood between these current neighbors is also documented.Hicks filed a stalking order on easley last September but it was dropped just a month later.

And then according to Josephine County Records, Easley filed a restraining order on the now deceased estes less than 2 weeks ago. The reason however, unknown.
