OLCC asks lawmakers to keep medical and recreational marijuana separate when legalized

Ore. — The Oregon Liquor Control Commission says medical marijuana could threaten to destabilize the recreational cannabis market.

The OLCC sent a memo to lawmakers this week, asking them to keep medical and recreational marijuana separate when it becomes legal in July.

They hope by keeping the recreational system separate, that will lower the chance there will be leakage into the black market.

A full list of recommendations has been posted onto the OLCC’s website.
