Peace Talks Resume

Former U.S. Ambassador Martin Indyk will oversee renewed Israeli-Palestinian peace talks set to resume Monday evening after a three year break.

Secretary of State John Kerry announced Indyk’s appointment Monday morning, while acknowledging that his task will be difficult.

Two days of meetings are scheduled to take place at the State Department.

Martin Indyk served in a variety of diplomatic roles during the Clinton administration and as U.S. Ambassador to Israel before accepting a position as director of the Foreign Policy Program at the Brookings Institution.
