Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect, Following Pursuit

Police make an arrest early Tuesday morning, after officials say an armed man robbed a Medford home, and lead police on a high-speed chase, ending in a crash.

Police were dispatched to a home on the 4700 block of Hillcrest road, after receiving a 911 call around 4 A.M. Reports say dispatchers could hear what sounded like a robbery in progress over the phone.

Upon arriving on the scene, police saw a man fleeing in a car down Hillcrest road. Officers enganged in a pursuit, and chased the man to the corner of Sunrise avenue, where the suspect’s car crashed. Police say the man attempted to flee on foot, but was caught by officials, and taken into custody. Police recovered a knife and taser from the suspect. The suspect’s name has not yet been released. He is being booked in the Jackson County Jail.

The two homeowners, a man in his 70’s and woman in her 60’s were both taken by ambulance to the Rogue Regional Medical Center. It’s not yet clear how serious their injuries are.
