Police are still searching for a killer.
“We’ve got a lot going on, we’re going to be blanketing that entire downtown area, talking to businesses, passing out flyers,” said Lieutenant Mike Budreau of the Medford Police Department.
Over the weekend, police said 58-year-old cab driver William Huson picked up a passenger near Howiee’s On Front Street. Hours later, his body was found with a gun shot to the head in a field off Vilas Road. Huson’s cab, which police believe was driven by the suspect, was abandoned near 9th and Almond streets in Medford.
But now, police said they have new information.
“We did release a suspect description we’re confident is going to be accurate based on witnesses we talked to,” said Lt. Budreau.
Police said they think the killer was a 25-35 year old white male, between 6’1″ and 6’2″, with pockmarks or acne on his face, wearing a black ball cap, black “Carhartt style” coat and jeans. Police said they’re hoping the description jogs someone’s memory.
“The suspect was walking right through there [on Front Street], was passing people,” said Lt. Budreau.
While police said they’ve received more than 60 tips and know more tonight than they did yesterday…
“We really need to talk to folks who were down there on Front Street on that night,” Budreau said.
Police, crossing their fingers that the dozens of witnesses coming forward will help them track down William Huson’s killer.
Police said they’ll continue to pour over security camera footage from all the surrounding businesses.
At this point their not sure if the suspect was in Howiee’s or another nearby business.
