Radio Tower To Come Down

The Medford city council approving a proposal to move a 130 foot radio tower from the Capital Hill neighborhood.

Medford Police Chief Tim George said he recommended moving the tower to another location on Medford water commission land after meeting with neighbors.

Relocating the tower, would improve radio signal coverage for police and fire in Medford

The city built the tower in December 2010 without informing the neighborhood, and it never became operational. Under the proposal to move it, the total cost would be more than 320 thousand dollars.
