Signs down, power lines snapped, and high surf, all remnants of Typhoon Pabuk.
“It was a very intense storm, something we would normally see in Novemeber rather than the end of September.
The storm system which was off the coast of Japan just last week pounded the coast over the weekend.
The storm brought us very heavy rain, 8 inches along the coast and in Curry County.
The bulk of the storm hit northern parts of the state, flooding areas in Portland.
But while it wasn’t as severe in the Rogue Valley, we still broke records.
Nearly an eighth of an inch of rain fell in Medford Sunday helping make this the second wettest September on record.
On the coast people like Sarah Livesay who ventured out in the storm say these types of storms come with the territory in the pacific northwest.
“Igrew up in Oregon,I feel like having a raincoat and going out in the rain is just part of it. If you want to be out, just having a good rain jacket that’s all there is to it.”
