Sandy May Be Affecting Voter Turnout On The East Coast

Superstorm Sandy has slammed the east coast and now the question is how will it affect the November election just a week away.

A handful of battleground states were hit by Sandy and experts here in the Rogue Valley say that would be a key factor in voter turnout *if* Oregon or California were swing states.

Michael Torguson, a Political Science Professor at RCC said “If Oregon had more than seven electoral votes if Oregon was really a big state in play then yes this would be just another reason why people would get out and vote.”

While Torguson says he hopes voters will turn out, he’s not so sure they will since he says locally there aren’t too many big issues on the ballot.
