Saturday Mail Delivery To End In August

The United States Postal Service announced this morning that they will be discontinuing the Saturday regular mail delivery service in August. Mail will continue to be delived to P.O. boxes and packages will also be delivered Saturdays.

The Postal Service reports that it is losing as much as $25 million dollars a day, and that cutting the Saturday service would save them $2 billion dollars a year.

The cuts will cost over 9000 full time postal workers to be cut to part time and that will cost them their benefits.

Research did show that 5 out of 7 Americans support the 5 day regular mail service.
