Southern Oregon Humane Society Celebrates 85 Years

For 85 years the Southern Oregon Humane Society has been helping rescue and find animals new homes.

Today the group celebrated their 85th birthday in the same location.

Officials say they’ve helped tens of thousand animals.

Kenn Altine adds, “It’s just a phenomenal feeling to have the dogs and cats arrive and know they are safe, they’ve made it, they are safe. It’s going to be okay now. Then we get to find them homes and open more space and we get to say yes to more animals. It’s a wonderful thing to do.”

Today’s celebration included free dog bones, cake, and even an auxiliary show for visitors.
