Talent Man Changes Plea in 2011 Thanksgiving Day Shooting

A Talent man facing multiple attempted murder charges makes a change of plea.

In court on Tuesday, Aaron Merlina turned down a plea agreement 14 months in the making, and will stand trial on multiple attempted murder charges.

Merlina is accused of a 2011 Thanksgiving day shooting.

Reports say he fired three shots into the victim’s home. No one was injured in the shooting.

If convicted by a jury of the original aggravated attempted murder charges, Merlina could face 20 years behind bars.

A pretrial hearing is set for March 4th.
