It’sthe first flight of it’s kind in the United States, and it’s happening right here in Oregon today.
The first unmanned flight by a National Guard unit will take off from Pendleton today.
Officials say Pendleton is ideal for training because of the climate, terrain, low population density and low commercial air traffic. The flight will take off from the Army Aviation Support facility at 1 pm this afternoon.
