Utah baby survives dramatic car crash

Utah — A baby survives a dramatic car crash in Utah.

Police say she was upside down in her car seat in a frigid river for 13 hours.

Spanish-Fork police and firefighters were dispatched to an over-turned vehicle in the Spanish-Fork River.

Police say, 25-year-old Lynn Jennifer Groesbeck may have swerved over a cement barrier, launching the vehicle into the frigid water.

Groesbeck died in that crash leaving her 18-month-old baby girl upside down in her car seat for up to 13 hours.

Firefighter Paul Tomadakis, jumped on top of the car, opened the door and unstrapped the baby.

Overnight, hospital staff says the baby has improved to fair condition.
