Wolf Creek Evacuations Reduced

A sigh of relief tonight for some Wolf Creek residents who can finally go home afterfire from the Douglas Complex forced them to evacuate for almost two weeks.

A community meeting at the Wolf Creek parkbrought in about 50 residents who wereanxious and eager to get some good news.

Wednesday, The Oregon Department of Forestry and Wolf Creek Fire gave evacuated residents the green light to go home.

Evacuations had been in effect from Wolf Creek to Lower Wolf Creek Roads and in the Graves Creek area.

Tonight Charles McCoy say’s he’s thankful to have a home to return to.

“I feel pretty good I get to sleep in my own bed tonight..they built a fire line around myhouseand stopped it…the firefighters are doing a good job.”

Crews also addressed the weather at tonight’s meeting,saying they hope the predicted storms bring rain and not lightning.

Even though some of the evacuations are liftedfire crews say it’s important to be ready.

Have the “5 p’s” ready to go, they are:

People, pets, prescriptions, papers and photographs.
