Rogue River Restrictions Lifted

After 2 weeks of fires and smoke in southern Oregon, the Rogue River will finally open up back up for business Monday.

Josephine County Commissioners, river outfitters, and wildfire personnel met Sunday to discuss the re-launch for rafting businessesalong the Rogue River.

“We’re just happy that it opened for the area weve been losing a hundred thousand dollars a day the hotels restaurants. It affected all of us.”

While portions of the river will reopen, there will be restrictions in place.

The Grave Creek Boat Ramp will reopen as will the portion of the Rogue River from Grave Creek to Rogue River Ranch.

Rainey Falls Trail will remained closed.

Fire officials say there is a possibility the river will close again as conditions change throughout wild fire season.
