The pool currently needs about 55 thousand dollars in repairs and the school simply can’t afford to keep it open.
“We’re kind of sad to see the pool go. It’s been here as long as I’ve been here. It’s been a nice feature, and i know the community uses it, and i think it will be a blow to swimming in general in Southern Oregon” Michael Schell, OITs Director of Athletics.
The school is considering covering the pool with a floor that could serve as OIT’s second gymnasium.
