Court documents obtained by NBC5 News reveal that an informant tipped off Medford Police to 48-year-old Shane Hagey. Hagey was arrested at the Medford Center Purple Parrot on December 30th and charged with possession of meth and resisting arrest. According to Medford Police, an informant provided cell phone records, as well as dates and locations of alleged drug deals which the informant claims had been going on for at least a year.
According to an affidavit, the informant set up an exchange on the day of Hagey’s arrest telling him “if he needed anything today to let him/her know.” According to the document, Hagey said he “wanted to meet later in the day”. Police went to that arranged meeting and arrested Hagey following the deal. He was cited and released. Hagey has been placed on administrative leave.
According to the court documents, the informant is assisting in this investigation for consideration on pending felony charges he or she is facing. Meanwhile, the District Attorney’s office has yet to file paperwork in the case. No word on when or if it will go to a grand jury.
