Dozens injured in Kansas train derailment

NC_kstrain0314_700x394(NBC News) More than two dozen people were injured when an Amtrak train bound for Chicago derailed early Monday in southwest Kansas.

Seven Amtrak passenger cars left the tracks near Cimarron, with five cars tipping over.

128 passengers and 14 crew members were on board at the time; 30 were taken to a nearby hospital.

“It was bone chilling,” said passenger Greg Jones. “I felt a bump and I thought at first it was hydraulics, but when I heard the screams I knew something was wrong.”
