Fatal crash on Highway 140E

Klamath County, Ore. – A young man was killed after a single-vehicle crash in Klamath County.

Oregon State Police said the crash happened shortly after 3:00 Tuesday morning on Highway 140E, about 30 miles east of Klamath Falls. The wrecked vehicle was found roughly an hour later by a passing truck driver.

Troopers said 20-year-old Kyle Stanton was headed from Lakeview to his job in Grants Pass at the time of the crash. Stanton’s Ford Explorer slid off the highway and impacted a tree stump sideways.

OSP said Stanton was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Airbags did not deploy due to the side-impact nature of the crash.
