Kids deliver holiday shoe boxes

Medford, Ore. — A group of local elementary school students are giving back this holiday to those less fortunate.

This morning about 140 students at sacred Heart Catholic School each delivered a shoe box full of toiletries to the families at Nurturing Center and Access.

The Kids, between 3 and 14 years old, gathered the items from their families to give to those less fortunate and couldn’t be happier doing so. Kiera McNamee, 12 years old, said the best part was the feeling she gets.

“Having the feeling inside you that you’re doing something good for the community and for these people who don’t have a lot of money,” McNamee said.

The kids handed out 143 boxes to the two organizations, filled with a wide range of items from soap and brushes to gloves and socks.
