The Douglas Complex fire was started early Friday morning after a lightning storm hit the area.
The wildfire is a series offires in the general area.
It is divided in three different branches.
The first is Milo which on the east side of Interstate 5.
It is comprised of a group of smaller fires, all less than 20 acres in size.
They have been lined and firefighters will begin mopping up hot areas of each fire.
The next is the Rabbit Mountain and Union Creek branch, which is where the two mainburn of the fire are.
And finally the Dads Creek and Panther Butte are the ones that have been prompting evacuations for residents west of Glendale.
The fire has consumed between 7,500 and 8,000acres, threatening a number of structures.
However, at this time it does not appear any structures have been damaged.
Late last night Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber declared it a conflagration, meaning meaning the state fire marshal can mobilize crews from other parts of the state.
More than 750 fire crews have been called into to help fight the blaze.
