A report by the Journal Science says by the end of this century temperatures will rise to the highest levels in 11,000 years, causing pollen counts to skyrocket.
Those findings were presented to Allergists and Immunologists at a November 2012 conference.
The research predicts pollen counts to skyrocket by 2040. It also says allergy seasons will begin earlier each year. For those who suffer from allergies now, brace yourselves.
Allergy season starts in March, but it really hits its stride in April. For most it runs through July, but it can hang on as long as October for some.
It’s too soon to predict how bad this years season will be. The telltale sign is how much rain we get in April. A lot of rain in April means a milder early allergy season. But that rain could feed the grass pollen, causing a harsher late season in June.
Allergists recommend to start taking your allergy medication now. That way when the season hit’s its stride in mid-April you’re body and immune system is better prepared.
