Lower airfare and cheaper gasoline prices are expected to drive Thanksgiving holiday travel. More than 90% of those will hit the roads, 7.3 million in the Pacific Northwest. While the traffic seemed to pick up today, Wednesday will be the busiest day. There’s also the biggest shopping day of the year, “Black Friday” this week. AAA reports people may not spend as much as years past, but with travel up consistently over the last four years, it could be a sign that the economy is healing.
