Rogue River, Ore. — A Grants Pass man died and another seriously injured after crashing into a tree on Highway 99.
Oregon State Police say a 1997 Honda Coupe was traveling northbound about a mile north of Rogue River on Monday night when it went off the roadway on a right turn.
Troopers say the car then struck a large pine tree on the driver’s side door.
The driver, 47-year-old Donovan Hilby, was pronounced dead on scene. Passenger 35-year-old Patrick Green was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers say alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
