Medford City Council Considers Lifting Beehive Ban

The Medford City Council is considering a proposal to lift the city’s restriction on beehives within the city limits. Currently, beehives are only allowed on land zoned for agricultural purposes.

Some residents are asking that beehives be allowed for personal use and the council seemed open to the idea.

Council member Dick Gordon says he finds it interesting that people can grow medical-marijuana plants outside an agricultural zone, but can’t have a beehive.
