MMA fighter facing 32 felony charges

Las Vegas, Nev. — A former mixed martial arts fighter is facing 32 felony counts for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend and her male friend.

Jonathan Koppenhaver, also known as “war machine” appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom Wednesday and pleaded not guilty, the judge denied his attorney’s request for bail.

Investigators say he beat Christy Mack and her guest last month, then escaped to California, where he was eventually arrested by U.S. Marshals.

Mack had to have oral surgery after the incident, but has since been released from the hospital and can walk.
