A project to export coal through the Port of Coos Bay has fallen through.
Metro Ports of California was considering putting a coal terminal in the port, however the exclusive option deadline for the project has passed for Metro Ports
This comes after two major buyers, Mitsui and Company and Korean Electric Power Corp. put on the brakes in March.
In order to ship the coal, the port would need to undergo $250 million worth of upgrades.
