A Klamath Falls man is trying to find a stranger who saved his life last week.
Phil Roseberry believes he was only moments from dying…when he was rescued by a stranger.
“Words can’t express how I feel right now. I mean, I have a 3 1/2 year old little girl…I can’t express any words…”
Roseberry was driving down Crater Lake Parkway on Thursday, June 7th, when he accidentally inhaled a piece of snack food, and couldn’t breathe.
Roseberry knew he couldn’t make it back to his job at the Sheriff’s office, and was unable to speak…
“So I stopped right in the middle of Crater Lake Parkway and Shasta, and hopped out – threw my emergency flashers on, and tried to cough it out. And I wasn’t having much luck.”
Roseberry began to panic, as traffic continued to pass…until a stranger came to his rescue.
“And the next thing I know, he’s behind me, trying to give me a Heimlich maneuver.” Said Roseberry. “And a couple of thrusts, and I bent over, and he hit me a couple times on the back, and it dislodged.”
Roseberry says he remembers giving the man a hug, and thanking him – but he never got his name.
“Just as quick as he was there, he was gone again.” Noted Roseberry. “And I sure thank that guy, and my family does, too – he saved my life.”
Roseberry wants to thank that good Samaritan in person, and he hopes that man will contact him through the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.
