The project, known as “Restore The Bear” is a work in progress as students from Cascade Christian School picked up where they left off.
ASbout three years ago you couldn’t even walk near the river adjacent to the school due to overgrown vegetation.
Lomakatsi Restoration in Ashland picked up the project and the work began.
The overgrown vegetation has since been cleared out, even an outdoor classroom has been built. Yesterday, students worked under Lomanski’s instruction to plant trees on the now bare soil.
Students say it is a great feeling to give back. This event is not the first or last in the school’s effort to make a section of the creek available for public and educational use.
