Senate To Decide If Children Under 7 Can Ride ATV’s On Public Land

Senate Bill 238

would allow children under 7 years old to ride off-road motorcycles and ATV’son public lands “if”

they meet certain physical requirements.

Those including

reaching the brake and throttle grips, and meeting leg length requirements.

While some parents we spoke with think it’s a bad idea, the senate committee approved the bill and it’s now before the full senate.

Under current law

, kids7 to 15 can ride ATV’s

with adult supervision and an operating permit.
