Ahouse committee has voted unanimously to keep minors under 18 out of tanning beds.
House Bill 2896 would prohibit teens under 18 from using salon tanning beds unless they have a doctor’s signed note of permission.
Right now, minors are allowed with parental consent.
Medical experts say the exposure to UV lights at a young age can increase the chances of Melanoma. The bill will now move on to the full house.
