Tuition Equity Bill Gains Support From Governor Kitzhaber

A policy change may be on the horizon for undocumented Oregon high school graduates.

Tuition equity bill 27-87 would grant in-state tuition rates for undocumented students meeting certain criteria.

Students will have to have studied in the United States for at least five years, attended an Oregon high school for at least three of those, and graduated.

After that, they would be eligible after filing an affidavit saying they will apply for citizenship.

A pubic hearing on the bill is being held in Salem Wednesday morning at 8.
