Lockdown at Butte Falls School

butte falls school courtesy google Butte Falls, Ore. — Butte Falls School went into lockdown early Wednesday afternoon after someone went onto campus and flashed a gun.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says a teenage boy, who didn’t go to the school, assaulted a student on campus around 1:00pm.

Staff at the school reported the suspect flashed a gun in his waistband sending the school into lockdown for roughly and hour.

Sheriff’s deputies tracked down the juvenile and arrested him in the attic of a home on the 300 block of Main Street in Butte Falls. They also say they recovered the gun.

The teen is charged with assault in the fourth degree and menacing. He is being held by Jackson County Juvenile Detention.
