Yreka, Ca., — One week after he was killed in the line of duty, Yreka is developing plans to host Deputy Jack Hopkins’ funeral.
The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office says the funeral is still a week and a half out so preparations are light right now, but Hopkins is already in Yreka – and the men and women in blue are taking extra care of him.
“Deputy Hopkins will receive around clock company, that means we’ve arranged on 4 hour shifts someone is always always with him. That will continue until he is laid to rest. ” Kelly Giordano, the sheriff’s office PIO.
Modoc County Sheriff’s office is heading the funeral, Yreka is just hosting it.
But both agencies say at least a couple thousand people are expected to show up.
