Companies Buy GMO Campaign Control

Since the announcement of Oregon’s special session large out-of- state corporate interests have been dropping money on support campaigns of genetically modified seeds and crops in Oregon.

The passage of Senate Bill 863 has confirmed to many anti-GMO supporters that control can be bought. That’s true for many political action committees who rely on funding to build their voice. But for one grassroots initiative in Southern Oregon, GMO-Free Jackson County will likely be the underdog come May when an initiative is placed on the ballot to ban GMO’s in Jackson County.
