Ashland Home Destroyed After 3rd Alarm Structure Fire

A house erupted in flames early Wednesday afternoon, mobilizing local fire officials into a third alarm structure response.

This home atop a hill overlooking the Rogue Valley caught fire around noon today.

Officials say that due to the location, water was not readily available and delayed response.

Fire Chief Dan Marshall said “When the first unit on scene tells us it’s totally involved and we had fire through the roof when the first unit got here. So, we were behind the curve from the get-go and playing catch-up is a little bit difficult.”

The homeowners were able to get out ok and fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
