Pacific Northwest Faces Multiple Produce Recalls

An Oregon produce company has announced another lettuce recall, after buying tainted greens from River Ranch Fresh Foods.

Pacific Coast Fruit Company purchased the lettuce from the Salinas Company, that was recently found to be contaminated by Listeria.

Those greens were then sold to more than 100 Fred Meyer stores in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

The recalled lettuce was sold to Fred Meyer in 9.6 to 10 ounce bags.

If you purchased one of these products, you are asked to throw them out.

Meanwhile, a California company is recalling diced red onions sold in 14 states including Oregon.

Gill Onions distributed more than 2,000 pounds of the onions packaged in 7 ounce containers, with a use-date of May 17.

A random sampling of the onions by food inspectors showed levels of listeria, which poses a particular threat to pregnant woman.

The company has said they have not received any reports of any illness.

If you have any questions, call the company at 800-348-2255.
