UPDATE: Passenger in downtown Medford crash has died

Update (9/3 10:03pm): Medford Police have reported that the passenger in a 2004 Buick Century, 74 year-old Francis Elliot, has died as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the Buick, 85 year-old Bill Elliott, was treated at Rogue Regional Medical Center and released.

The other driver of a 2007 Toyota Tacoma that hit the Buick was not injured.

Police say the Buick was attempting to cross 10th Street when the Toyota, traveling west on 10th, struck the Buick on it’s passenger side causing it to drive through a yard, eventually hitting a tree.

Medford Police says that no enforcement has been taken or citation given. They also say the investigation is still ongoing.

Medford, Ore. — Medford Police are on scene of a two vehicle crash at 9th and Cottage street. The passenger of the car that was hit was extracted from the vehicle and taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was also taken to the hospital.

The other driver was not taken to the hospital.

Police say 9th and Cottage Street as well as Siskiyou and Cottage Street are closed at least for the next two hours.
