Willamette River flooding to reach highest stage Wednesday

CORVALLIS, Ore. (KGW) – Flood waters in Corvallis, Oregon have led to road and highway closures.

The National Weather Service said the Willamette River is cresting just below moderate flood stage.

Forecasts show that at 5:00 p.m., the river is expected to crest at 33.2 feet. It will then begin to fall below 33 feet by 10:00 p.m.

Residents have been asked to avoid flooded areas until the waters recede.

The Willamette River isn’t expected to fall below flood level until 6:00 a.m. Friday.
